Wendy was our Deputy Manager and Special Educational Needs co-ordinator at Agnes Day Nursery since 2006.
Sadly she passed away in July 2018. Wendy fought her battle with cancer with integrity. She was strong, brave and never showed the trauma she was going through. This portraying her distinctive personality and temperament.
Wendy worked for many years as a nursery nurse at St Agnes Day Nursery in Convent Lane, Bocking. She cared and looked after many children throughout the years until St Agnes closed. The Nursery then continued on in the United Reformed Church as A.G.N.E.S as it is today.
Wendy had a good rapport with colleagues, parents, other work related professionals and especially the children.
As a SENCO, she understood the individual needs of the children in her care and supported them to the best of her abilities. Many who had worked with Wendy, from past to present were not just colleagues, but formed strong friendships. Enjoying trips to London to see shows, going to the cinema and enjoying holidays together.
Although A.G.N.E.S was a big part of Wendy's life. She did have many other interests. One of those very close to her heart was sponsoring two children from Watoto in Uganda who she loved dearly. Wendy also had the opportunity to visit Watoto and their community.
Wendy helped people less fortunate than herself. From people in Africa to her own community in Braintree. Helping at the church she attended where she helped set up a local food bank. Wendy liked to get involved to help others and to inspire people too.
Wendy's legacy will live on through the nursery where she is remembered everyday, as memories never fade.
The staff would like to thank all the parents for your kind wishes, thoughts and most of all your continuing support at the nursery.
